The notion and purpose for the British Government of maintaining overseas territories above and on top of whatever particular definition describes those territories historically and politically, simply stems from an imperialist pretention that offensively flies in the face of a world of nations of equal respect among one another. To be a “British Overseas territory” is to insolently cast out and dismiss situations where a territory was obtained through invasion, peace blackmailing treaty, abduction, prevention of others to make their case for that territory, corrupt dealings with other empires or countries. The term in short says “we don't care about anything else but to have this by our own will and force”, as in the case of the Falkland/Malvinas Islands. And of course it is so often the case that affirming such will and purpose by the use of sheer insolent force, brings with it degradation and contention in the relation with those countries involved in that territorial situation. It's all about “having in spite of whatever”, and never about “being with others” in this world. It's always about possession, and never about international quality. It's anachronistic. Moreover it's so often about corrupting knowledge, lies and the proliferation of improper inaccurate historical education, as narratives must recruit the residents of these places to chime in and abide by those narratives that falsely sustain Britain's storybook historical tales tailored to abolish the occurrences of unrighteousness, unlawfulness, killings, usurpation, obliteration, abusive bulling, genocides, thievery, expulsions, and so forth. Tales and narratives constituted by the contents of manipulative constructs such as this Joint Ministerial Council event.
