    Falklands, prestigious awards for the design of Tussac House

    Tussac House, the first purpose-built extra care facility for the Falkland Islands, has recently won two prestigious awards and is shortlisted for another. The building was awarded the national Structural Timber Awards Healthcare Project of the Year and is shortlisted for Healthcare Estates’ New Build of the Year award, which will be judged later this month (October 2025).

    The final 20 living Israeli hostages, held captive for 738 days since the attack on October 7, 2023, were released by the pro-Palestine terrorist organization Hamas and returned to Israel on Monday morning. They were handed over to the Red Cross in two groups across Gaza. The Red Cross confirmed they were all able to walk and in a stable condition.

    They say no one wins a trade war. Certainly, there are fewer bigger losers than soybean farmers in the United States. Since May China, by far their biggest customer, has refused to buy a single bushel in retaliation for Donald Trump’s tariffs. The spat is ruining farmers in Illinois; Mr Trump is set to announce a US$10bn agricultural-relief package. It is also raising costs for crushers in China’s Shandong province, who press beans into animal feed and cooking oil. But there has been one big winner: soybean producers in Brazil. The rift between American farmers and their Chinese clients has let Brazil cement its place as the world’s soybean superpower.
