The 2024/25 season in South Georgia saw 40 expedition cruise ships make 110 visits, and 7 yachts make 8 visits, with a total of 15,853 passengers, and including all staff and crew on both cruise ships and yachts there was an overall total of 30,037 visitors.

London tax for visitors, if Parliament passes community empowerment bill

Visitors to London could soon be paying extra, if they stay overnight in hotels or Airbnb style accommodation by paying a tourist tax. The extra cost could raise hundreds of millions of pounds for mayors to spend on local public transport services as soon as the 2027/28 financial year.

Royal Navy changes rules of engagement following incident with Russian spy vessel

The Royal Navy's rules of engagement have been changed in response to the Russian intelligence-gathering ship Yantar directing lasers at RAF pilots. According to Forces.news UK Defense Secretary John Healey said the vessel was currently positioned on the edge of British territorial waters and was being closely tracked by Royal Navy warships and RAF P-8 Poseidon aircraft.
