    So, they must sell the oil to the US at a US fixed price, no doubt cheaper than the current Canadian heavy crude, despite the greatly increased transport costs and then spend the money in the US.

    And no plan for a democratic ‘independent’ Venezuela any time soon, able to sell its own oil on the world market and spend the money how and where it wishes

    A colonial model worthy of any empire in the past.
