“The conference is a chance to hear world-class research from academics about the conflict and capture vital oral histories from veterans from both sides of the conflict - which would otherwise be lost to history”.

But not the third side in this conflict - the Falkland Islanders. Their oral histories can, indeed, be lost to history. Perhaps they don't matter.

Fails to mention that Virginia Gamba is an Argentine indoctrinated with her country's false history of the Falklands, as revealed in a 1990 book she co-wrote with Freedman. Unfortunately, Freedman repeated some of the nonsense in his Official History vol.1 in 2005.

    So, not worth attending then.

As for the oral histories of the Islanders, then Patrick Watts courageous invasion broadcast, stands head and shoulders above all those that served and subsequently recorded their memories (myself included).

I had the privilege of meeting him in 2018, on my one return visit. Good man.
