Born in Buenos Aires on December 28, 2002, Gaspi began posting content in 2015 and reached mass recognition from 2021, when his channel passed two million subscribers Argentine YouTuber Gaspar Prim Díaz, known as Gaspi, 23, was one of the six people who died on Sunday in the collision of two helicopters over Rio de Janeiro. Brazilian authorities released the names of the victims in the afternoon, following the accident in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes neighborhood, in the west of the city.
Born in Buenos Aires on December 28, 2002, Gaspi began posting content in 2015 and reached mass recognition from 2021, when his channel passed two million subscribers. He became known for his irreverent and provocative humor, and in particular for his videos of spontaneous approaches to strangers on the streets of Buenos Aires, marked by his greeting buenass and his deep voice. His style, which combined parody, black humor and social commentary, at one point cost him the removal of much of his content on YouTube.
Over time he broadened his formats —adding vlogs, interviews and live streams— and began to address more serious topics, such as politics and social issues, without abandoning his comic tone. In 2025 he gained international visibility by taking part in La Velada del Año V, the boxing event among content creators organized by Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos at the La Cartuja Stadium in Seville, where he made his debut against the Spaniard Perxitaa.

Gaspi was traveling in one of the helicopters, the one registered PP-MAC, together with US singer Oliver Tree, Argentine music-video director Lucas Vignale, Brazilian music producer Lucas Brito Chaves and pilot Alexandre Souza. In the second aircraft, registered as PR-DJJ, was pilot Charles Marsillac. The collision occurred in mid-air at 8:59, local time, and one of the aircraft came down on the parking lot of an electric-vehicle dealership, where it caught fire and reached at least twenty cars. The Center for the Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (CENIPA) and the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) are investigating the causes.
Among the victims is another Argentine, Lucas Vignale, a filmmaker born in Buenos Aires in 1997 with a broad career in music-video editing, who worked with urban-music artists such as J Balvin, Trueno and Bizarrap. His feature-film debut, El tren Fluvial (2026), co-directed with Lorenzo Ferro, had been acclaimed in the Perspectives section of the Berlin Film Festival. The deaths of both creators prompted numerous expressions of grief in Argentina and across the region.
