The Falkland Islands Government is currently developing modernized anti-discrimination legislation, with the first phase focusing on protections relating to race.

This means it will be unlawful to treat a person less favorably because of their race (discrimination), to subject them to unwanted conduct related to race that violates their dignity or creates an offensive environment (harassment), or to treat them unfairly because they have made or supported a complaint about discrimination (victimization).

As part of this work, we are inviting organizations to share their views through a series of short questionnaires. These are designed to reflect different types of organizational activity, and the links are available here:

• Employer Questionnaire https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YYZCPXR

Goods, Facilities and Services to the Public Questionnaire

Clubs, Associations, and Membership-Based Organizations Questionnaire

Responses will help us understand how organizations currently operate, assess the potential impact of the proposed legislation, and identify what support and guidance may be needed.

To help you decide which questionnaire(s) to complete, we have included some brief guidance below:

• Employers: Organizations or businesses that have staff or workers (even if this is only a small number of people)

• Providers of goods, facilities and services to the public: Organizations that provide goods or services to the public, including selling goods, offering services, or allowing people to use or hire spaces

• Clubs, associations, and membership-based organizations: Groups where people join or participate as members, including sports clubs, hobby groups, community groups, and social clubs. Some may be formal with structured rules, while others may be more informal

We recognize that many organizations operate in more than one of these capacities. Please complete all questionnaires that are relevant to your organization’s activities. Each questionnaire takes approximately 5 minutes.

**The deadline for responses is 30 June 2026.**

There are no right or wrong answers: we are interested in your experiences and perspectives. Your feedback will help ensure the legislation and supporting guidance are clear, fair, practical, and reflective of how organizations operate in the Falkland Islands.
