Jul 02nd, 2026 - 01:59 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I often wonder is it because they hope the high seas fishing will deplete the Falkland islands catches so taking away the revenue. Sort of cutting off ones nose to spite ones face.
What will happen is that China and other Asian countries will continue to increase untill the entire stock has gone. So not only do we suffer but Argentina as well and all because they refuse to work with us on the pretenses we are a planted people. We are no more implanted than the Argentine people.
It is just plain stupidity, meanwhile the others are reaping the benefits.
My suggestion to that is both the Falklands and Argentina play these pirates at their own game. Go out to the blue mile hole and fish .
Better still both countries rather than fight get together and propose increasing their 200 mile limit to sayv300 mile limit. That way they force the pirates out of the area.
Is that not realistically possible.
One day Argentina will have to accept we exist and start working with us, not against us, for the better of the south Atlantic. Likely won't happen but is possible
