Royal Navy patrol ship HMS Medway makes first port call at Chile's Punta Arenas

The British Royal Navy's patrol vessel HMS Medway (P223) docked on Sunday morning at Punta Arenas, in Chile's Magallanes and Chilean Antarctic Region, on its first visit to the port. The stop, for resupply, is due to last until Wednesday, July 8. Read full article

    *Chile has backed calls in diplomatic forums for Argentina and the United Kingdom to resume sovereignty negotiations, in line with the regional stance.

    Can't be much of a sovereignty case without anything to take to court. In any case self-determination rules.

    Steve,
    One always needs to look at the map of Chile and Argentina to understand why Chile always supports
    Argentina diplomatically over the Falklands.
    But as an Islander with long business relations
    with Chile and Chilean buisness folks - that is as far as their support for Argentina,s claim goes.
