The United States has called at the UN for an end to the mandate of the Special Committee on Decolonisation, the body before which Argentina presents its sovereignty claim over the Falklands every year, and described some of its activities as “a waste of resources”, according to the official summary of the General Assembly Fourth Committee session held on October 15. Posted 1 day ago - Link - Report abuse +2All true, they are never going to de-colonise anyone, just look at who is on the committee and the territories left.
Posted 1 day ago - Link - Report abuse +2However, one of the reasons for adding the Falklands to the de-colonisation list was it guaranteed their right to self-determination, whatever Argentina may say, that is what the UN charter and resolution say.
But that is not what they are doing, they are just running up the expense account.
‘You have sat too long here for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go’.
No one will notice, never mind miss them.
Oh, and I think Argentina broke Resolution 31/49, when they invaded.
You can’t ‘un-break’ a resolution anymore you can ‘un-break’ an egg.
Anyway, the Islanders exploiting their natural resources is their right under UN resolutions and not a change to the status quo, it is the status quo.
It makes me laugh when Argentine posters try to claim its a special case, or spout the ridiculous implanted stock nonsense,
Posted 16 hours ago - Link - Report abuse +2their are no special cases. they just read something in to it that does not exist, and the even crazier implanted peoples statement, as every white person on the continent is implanted,
So 100% the waste of money committee needs to be put out to pasture.
'At the General Assembly in September, Milei had described the islands question as “a national cause” and called for Resolution 31/49, which urges the parties not to introduce unilateral changes while the dispute persists, to have consequences.'

A Committee so rediculous and inept that it won't even visit the Falkland Islands to see what it is talking about, despite dozens of invitations going back decades. Many of the members of the Committee have their own colonial situations to defend, and don't actually care about the NSGT.
