    Macron is launching a new phase in France's ties with South America

    French President Emmanuel Macron will be making state visits to Argentina and Chile as part of his South American tour to attend the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, it was confirmed in diplomatic circles. Macron will first get together with his Argentine colleague Javier Milei to discuss climate change and other bilateral issues between Nov. 16 and 17. Then, he will head for Brazil's gathering of world leaders on Nov. 18 and 19. And then he will travel to Santiago for talks with Gabriel Boric Font.

    Lula says Maduro not Brazil's problem

    Lula may resume air travel after last month's domestic accident

    Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva went Sunday to the Sírio-Libanês Hospital in Brasília for a checkup on his domestic accident from days ago, after which he was cleared to resume air travel.     Cutdown in carbon dioxide emissions reported in Brazil last year

    South America's largest country cut down its carbon dioxide equivalent (GtCO2e) emissions by 12% in 2023 compared to the previous year, Agencia Brasil reported Thursday citing data from the Climate Observatory. In 2023, Brazil emitted 2.3 billion tons of greenhouse gases, already a reduction from 2022's 2.6 billion tons.
