  Former Argentine Economy Minister Juan Vital Sourrouille (1985-1989) has died because of colon cancer at the age of 80, it was reported.

  Ushuaia satisfied with the resurgence of its fishing industry

  

  During the first half of the year, (Jan/Jun), 29,500 tons of fish products were landed at the port of Ushuaia which represents 53% over the same period a year (19,250 tons), according to the latest stats from Argentina's Fisheries Under Secretariat. Officials from Tierra del Fuego point out that much can be attributed to the fact that April 2020 was a “completely dead month”, because of the pandemic.

  Patagonia lawmakers call for an end to export duties on fisheries produce, fruit, lamb and wool

  

  Argentina lawmaker from the province of Chubut, Gustavo Menna has called on the central government to eliminate export duties on fishery products, fruits, ovine meat and wool. The initiative was also drafted by lawmakers Lorena Matzen and Roxana Reyes from the provinces of Rio Negro and Santa Cruz.

  Chile increases basic interest rate to 0,75%, working on a two year horizon
