  The Falkland Islands Government confirmed its commitment to delivering its capital program, despite some disruption caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic. The approved total capital program is valued at £130m over five years and there is significant work on-going to deliver critical infrastructure projects.

  Falklands: Stanley/MPC travel restrictions lifted; confinement measures relaxed

  

  The Falklands Government, FIG, and the British Forces South Atlantic Islands, BFSAI, given the current pandemic situation in the Islands, announced on Friday the lifting of travel restrictions between Stanley and Mount Pleasant Complex.

  Falklands after UK quarantine waiver because there are no Covid-19 cases in the Islands

  

  The Falkland Islands Government has confirmed that it has asked UK authorities to waive quarantine requirements for Falkland Islands residents travelling to UK. The move comes as surveillance swabbing continues to return negative results. To date, 413 PCR tests have been carried out in the Falklands, all resulting in negative results.

  Toothfish season underway at South Georgia

  

  The Government of South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands, GSGSSI, usually celebrates the toothfish fishery on the 4th September each year – Toothfish day. However, this season celebrations started early, when, on the 1st May the first vessels arrived at South Georgia for the start of the 2020 fishing season.
