  UK car production falls 40.5% to pre-pandemic levels; electric cars manufacturing boom

  

  The United Kingdom car production fell to its lowest level since 1956 in 2022 as output was hit by global shortages of semiconductor chips, figures show. A total of 775,014 cars were built in 2022, down 9.8% from the 859,575 made during the previous year, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said.

  Argentina wants to buy Brazilian armored vehicles

  

  Argentina's Defense Minister Jorge Taiana undertook negotiations earlier this week with Brazil for the purchase of 156 Iveco Guarani 6x6 armored vehicles, it was reported. South America's largest country already has 500 units of the same model.

  Buquebus orders largest 100% electric high-speed catamaran ferry in the world

  

  Shipbuilders Incat Tasmania has begun construction of what they claim will be the world's largest electric ferry boat. The 130-meter-long unit has been ordered by Buquebús, the company offering passenger services between Buenos Aires and the Uruguayan ports of Colonia and Montevideo through the Río de la Plata. It will have room for 2,100 travelers and 226 vehicles, it was reported.
