Falklands Rockhopper claims the oil company is in “its strongest position”

EC blocks Booking from acquiring eTravel “to protect consumers and ensure competition”

The European Commission blocked US travel giant Booking from acquiring its Swedish rival eTraveli on Monday. Booking commands a 60% market share for online travel agencies in Europe, the Commission said. Meanwhile, eTraveli operates several websites to compare airfares like Gotogate and MyTrip.

Argentine armed forces out to get new helicopters

Argentina's Defense Minister Jorge Taiana was reported Monday to have signed a letter of intent with Italian aircraft manufacturer Leonardo for the acquisition of eight AW 109 helicopters for surveillance operations in the South Atlantic and thus strengthen the Navy's patrolling capabilities in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

French Total planning to drill for gas off shore Tierra del Fuego

HMS Bristol: Falklands War destroyer up for sale

The British Defence Equipment Sales Authority (DESA) said four decommissioned Royal Navy units, including the unique HMS Bristol, have been put up for sale. The Bristol belonged to Task Group 317.8 during the 1982 Falklands/Malvinas War. The three other vessels on sale are the frigates HMS Monmouth and HMS Montrose, and the minehunter HMS Walney.

Gibraltar announces plans for a new cruise liner terminal
