  Paraguay's President Mario Abdo Benítez Tuesday decided to sack Interior Minister Arnaldo Giuzzio for the latter's alleged ties with a Brazilian drug trafficker, it was announced. He will be replaced by Federico González.

  Paraguayan Central Bank reports inflation in Jan. 2022 reached 1.5%

  

  Paraguay's Consumer Price Index (CPI) grew 1.5% in the month of January of 2022, for a yoy inflation of 7.9%, which surpassed the 6.8% recorded in the last month of 2021. It was also significantly above the same period of the previous year.

  Lawmakers seek impeachment of Paraguayan Interior Minister

  

  Paraguayan Liberal lawmakers have filed a motion to impeach Interior Minister Arnaldo Giuzzio, whose performance has been questioned over the past few days following a shooting during a festival, in which two people were killed and five others injured.
