    Facundo Jones Huala, leader of the Mapuche Ancestral Resistance (RAM), is being held under extremely severe conditions following his June 8 arrest in the Argentine Patagonia city of El Bolsón for encouraging acts of violence, a group of lawyers representing him claimed Thursday.

    Argentina's Libertarian Government of President Javier Milei Friday declared the Ancestral Mapuche Resistance (RAM) a Terrorist Organization, so that federal security forces can adopt the proper measures as Lonko Facundo Jones-Huala, who has served a prison sentence in Chile for arson, has been speaking in favor of setting Patagonian lands on fire.

    Chile's Supreme Court orders Jones Huala's release

    Jones Huala was deemed to have served out his sentence by June 14

    Chile's Supreme Court Friday ordered the immediate release of convicted Mapuche leader Facundo Jones Huala of Argentine origin because he had served out his sentence by June 14 and had therefore been “illegally deprived of his freedom.” The Mapuche Ancestral Resistance (RAM) activist had been convicted of arson and illegal possession of firearms in 2013.
