    Austrian coalition will block EU/Mercosur trade accord if it goes against the European Green Deal

    Vice-Chancellor Werner Kogler, a lawmaker from the Green party, sent a letter to Antonio Costa, the PM of Portugal, which holds the EU rotating presidency.

    Portugal's incumbent Prime Minister Antonio Costa's Socialists won a general election on Sunday after presiding over a period of solid economic growth following years of austerity, near total results showed. The Socialist Party (PS) took 37% of the vote, followed by the centre-right Social Democrats (PSD) with 28%, with 98% of constituencies counted, according to the interior ministry.

    Portugal Forest Fire costs 62 lives and fight not over yet

    Over 140 forest fires continued to hit Portugal by Monday morning.

    Over 1,700 firefighters continued to battled a large-scale forest fire Monday in Portugal that has already killed 62 people. Prime Minister Antonio Costa on Sunday declared three days of national mourning. Number of fatalities feared to rise. There are also 61 people injured, five of them in critical condition - four firemen and one child.
