    Argentina points to Uruguay for causing a “vacuum” in Mercosur and the current situation

     “Uruguay's unilateral decision to end its Mercosur pro tempore presidency has created a limbo, a vacuum” said minister Susana Malcorra

    Argentina considers that Uruguay created a “vacuum” in Mercosur when it unilaterally adopted the decision to devolve the block's presidency, and creating an unprecedented situation. Since then Mercosur has been involved in a serious controversy over the transfer of the presidency to Venezuela, which has strongly discredited the South American block.

    Mercosur agrees to give intra-trade a new boost eliminating barriers

    Mercosur agreed at the Brasilia summit that in the second half of the year they will address alternatives for the elimination of tariff and other similar barriers that impede the natural flow of trade of goods and services among its members. The initiative was agreed by Common Market Council, CMC, on the first day of deliberations and confirmed on Friday by the presidents of the group's full members.
