  Falklands, new Commander (Artillery) of British Forces South Atlantic Islands

  

  A new Commander of the British Forces South Atlantic Islands (CBFSAI) has been appointed. Brigadier Charlie Harmer took up the role from outgoing CBF Brigadier Daniel Duff on Saturday, June 13, one day before the Falkland Islands’ Liberation Day celebrations.

  Falklands, Commander BFSAI visits remote mountain radar stations

  

  The Commander of the British Forces South Atlantic Islands, BFSAI, with HQ at the Falkland Islands Mount Pleasant Complex, Brigadier Duff has been visiting the most isolated teams, such as remote mountain radar heads to wish them a Merry Christmas and offer his personal thanks in the form of a Christmas hamper.

  Falklands MPA toured by MoD Director of Overseas Bases

  

  During a five-day visit, the UK Ministry of Defense Director Overseas Bases, Dr Sam Griffiths, toured the force elements deployed in the BFSAI (British Forces South Atlantic Islands) area of operations and gained an insight to the joint force operation at the Mount Pleasant Complex, MPC.

  Falklands advancing in making MPA energy sustainable with Mare Harbour Wind Farm

  

  Following approval from ExCo on Tuesday 23 January, the Falkland Islands Government in joint working with British Forces South Atlantic will be able to proceed with “in principle approval” for Phase Two of the Mare Harbour Wind Farm.

  The Commander of the British Forces South Atlantic Islands stationed at Mount Pleasant Complex in the Falkland Islands, Brigadier Dan Duff has done the round of the troops under his command as part of the Christmas message.

  Falklands commemorated Remembrance Day on Sunday 12th November

  

  Sunday 12th November was Remembrance Sunday in the Falklands, and the occasion was commemorated with an annual service recalling the 105th anniversary of the end of the First World War, beginning with a service at Christ Church Cathedral in Stanley.

  Falklands: Remote radar facilities in Mount Kent becomes new refurbished outpost

  

  Earlier this week marked the official handover of new build accommodation at the 303 Signals Unit Remote Radar Head Mount Kent in the Falklands Islands, from the contract team Ramboll Volker Fitzpatrick to 303 Signals Unit. The ceremony marked UK's long-term commitment to the Falkland Islands' right to self-determination.

  This week the Falkland Islands and Mount Pleasant Complex bid farewell to the outgoing Commander of British Forces South Atlantic Islands, BFSAI, Jonathan Lett, who has been on the job since November 2020, and welcomed Brigadier Dan Duff, British Army.
