During a five-day visit, the UK Ministry of Defense Director Overseas Bases, Dr Sam Griffiths, toured the force elements deployed in the BFSAI (British Forces South Atlantic Islands) area of operations and gained an insight to the joint force operation at the Mount Pleasant Complex, MPC.
Following approval from ExCo on Tuesday 23 January, the Falkland Islands Government in joint working with British Forces South Atlantic will be able to proceed with “in principle approval” for Phase Two of the Mare Harbour Wind Farm.

The ceremony marked UK's long-term commitment to the Falkland Islands' right to self-determination.
This week the Falkland Islands and Mount Pleasant Complex bid farewell to the outgoing Commander of British Forces South Atlantic Islands, BFSAI, Jonathan Lett, who has been on the job since November 2020, and welcomed Brigadier Dan Duff, British Army.
The new Commander of the British Forces South Atlantic Islands (CBFSAI), Brigadier Dan Duff, is to be arriving in the Falklands in Spring 2023, replacing the current CBF, Commodore Jonathan Lett, who has been the CBF since November 2020.
