Falklands, new Commander (Artillery) of British Forces South Atlantic Islands

A new Commander of the British Forces South Atlantic Islands (CBFSAI) has been appointed. Brigadier Charlie Harmer took up the role from outgoing CBF Brigadier Daniel Duff on Saturday, June 13, one day before the Falkland Islands’ Liberation Day celebrations.

Evo said to have raped and impregnated underaged girls during his presidency

Former Bolivian Government (Interior) Minister Eduardo Del Castillo said Friday he had evidence that former President Evo Morales (2006-2019) raped minors during his time in office. The Movement Towards Socialism (MAS) presidential hopeful for the Aug. 17 elections added he could support these allegations with documentation, testimonies, and photographs. He also noted there were multiple victims, some of whom became pregnant.

Iran hits Tel Aviv with ballistic missiles

Following Israel's bombing in the wee hours of Friday which damaged strategic military facilities and equipment in addition to killing top rank officers and over 70 people in total, Iran retaliated early Saturday with a barrage of ballistic missiles hitting Tel Aviv, leading to at least two casualties and dozens of people injured.

FAO estimates record global cereal production in 2025/2026

FAO also released a new Cereal Supply and Demand Brief, forecasting a record global cereal production of 2 911 million tons in 2025, up 2.1 percent from 2024. World cereal utilization is forecast to increase by 0.8 percent in 2025/26, reaching 2 898 million tons.

Falklands’ lawmakers call for end of hostilities and humanitarian access to Gaza

Responding to a local group to act on their behalf in response to the situation in Gaza, Members of the Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly gave a statement. They stated: “We join with the governments of the United Kingdom, France, Canada, and others in calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities and full unfettered humanitarian access to those in need.

Final farewell for an Iconic Falklands War destroyer HMS Bristol

A Royal Navy destroyer that participated in the Falklands War left Portsmouth Harbor on Friday, June 13th, and is travelling to Turkey, where she will be recycled. A small group of spectators came to see HMS Bristol, the only Type 82 ever built of her class, being towed out of Portsmouth Harbor to start her journey to an EU-approved recycling yard in Turkey.

Brazil might sever military ties with Israel
