  Antipersonnel mines day: Central America cleared; in Colombia rebels continue planting them

  

  OAS Secretary General José Miguel Insulza participated on Friday in Colombia in a ceremony commemorating the International Day against Antipersonnel Mines, where he described the effort and commitment of OAS to eradicate the scourge and bring rehabilitation to survivors as a “high priority.”

  Norway has contributed with over 12m dollars to demining in Peru/Ecuador border

  

  Norway presented on Friday to the Organization of American States, OAS, a contribution of 600.000 dollars to support the humanitarian demining program along the Ecuadorean/Peruvian border in the Andes in the Condor region.
