  Russia and Bolivia deepen nuclear alliance

  

  Following talks in Moscow involving local, Venezuelan, and Bolivian military chiefs this week, the first Russian nuclear reactor vessel has arrived in La Paz, it was reported. The Aug. 16 gathering took place after Bolivia signed a “preventive and corrective maintenance” agreement with Iran for the use of drones in border control activities.

  Russia's atomic agency Rosatom Monday resumed construction of a nuclear reactor for the Center for Research and Development of Nuclear Technology (CIDTN) of Bolivia, a project which had been paralyzed in 2019, it was reported.

  Bolivian forces take control of major gas plant; crucial political discussions for a new election date

  

  Bolivian police and military forces used armoured vehicles and helicopters to clear access to a major gas plant in the city of El Alto on Tuesday, a show of strength after blockades at the facility had cut off fuel supply to nearby La Paz.
