  Mercosur nationals will need a visa to enter Schengen area

  

  Nationals of 15 Latin American countries -including all members of Mercosur- and of 60 countries worldwide will need to apply for a European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) visa to travel to or through the 26 territories within the so-called Schengen area, effective in 2023.

  World Travel & Tourism Council congratulates EU on the ETIAS visa scheme

  

  The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has congratulated the EU on the adoption of the new European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS), a pre-authorization system which allows the EU to know who is entering the EU, from where and if they pose a risk to EU security.

  Europe will impose tougher rules for visa exempt non-EU nationals

  

  Non-EU nationals exempt from visa requirements will have to get an authorization before travelling to the EU, under new rules backed by the European Parliament (EP) on Thursday.
