  Europol dismantles sophisticated network smuggling people across the English Channel

  

  German and Belgium authorities coordinated by Europol dismantle a migrant smuggling network active across the English Channel. The operation was also supported by Italy and Eurojust. The investigation targeted a criminal network based in Germany and involved in criminal activities facilitating the smuggling of Middle Eastern and East African migrants across the English Channel with low-quality inflatable boats.

  Europol/Ecuador, large cocaine bust, 73 tons and coordination with major EU ports

  

  A large-scale drug trafficking investigation, supported by Europol, led to the dismantling of an Ecuadorian criminal cell involved in supplying wholesale cocaine to the EU via major ports. The international operation, led by the Ecuadorian National Police (Policía Nacional del Ecuador), also involved the German Criminal Police (LKA Baden-Württemberg), German Customs (ZFA Stuttgart) and the Spanish Guardia Civil.

  Rotterdam seizes four tons of cocaine shipped from Paraguay via Uruguay

  

  Netherlands Customs officers have seized what is considered the largest haul this year, over four tons of cocaine at the port of Rotterdam with an estimated value of US$ 362 million. The drug was found in soy bags that were destined for Portugal and are of Paraguayan origin using Uruguay as the port of transit.
