  F-16s for Argentina, --and convincing UK--, US strategy to contain Chinese influence in the South Atlantic

  

  An article published by the United States Naval Institute, USNI, a private, professional military think-tank which since 1873 provides independent ideas for debating US defense issues, has revealed that Washington, fearful of China's advance in South America, offered back in 2020, surplus Danish F-16A/Bs both to Colombia and Argentina, and is “negotiating with the UK to approve the sale”.

  Taiwan to purchase 66 new generation F-16 fighters; Beijing furious

  

  Taiwan finalized the purchase of F-16 fighter jets from US aircraft manufacturer Lockheed Martin on Friday, in a US$62 billion, a 10-year deal sure to anger Beijing. Underscoring the sensitivity of the transaction, the Pentagon announced the contract without specifying the buyer, but a source confirmed it was Taiwan.

  Chilean Air Force begins to receive 18 refurbished f-16 fighters

  

  This week Holland will be delivering 18 refurbished F-16 fighter bombers to the Chilean Air Force. The Dutch Defence ministry said the ceremony will take place at the Leeuwarden base when Lex Hendrichs, head of Dutch Defence Material will be symbolically handing his Chilean peer Jorge Rojas a scale model of the US manufactured aircraft.
