The Legislative Assembly of the Falkland Islands proudly marked on Saturday 28th June, the British Armed Forces Day 2025. “Today we pay tribute to the courage, dedication, and service of the men and women who make up the British Armed Forces – past and present – and reflect with deep gratitude on the critical role they continue to play in safeguarding the Falkland Islands and the sacrifices that have been made for our right to self-determination.
The Falkland Island Executive Council (ExCo) at their meeting on Tuesday 24th June approved the issuance of a Veteran’s pin to retired/former members of the Falkland Islands Defence Force (FIDF).
This week the Falkland Islands Defense Force, FIDF, conducted a Search and Rescue (SAR) EXERCISE call-out, three walkers in the area of Mt Vernet visiting the Kiwi Hunt memorial on the top, a realistic scenario.
Last weekend, personnel from BFSAI, (British Forces South Atlantic Islands) took on The Falkland Islands 3 Peaks Challenge. Comprising of a 20km endurance race over Tumbledown, Two Sisters and Mount Longdon, over 250 competitors walked, 'TAB'd', or ran the stunning course.
Starting on Saturday, 14 October 2023, until 22nd October, the British Army Roulement Infantry Company currently stationed at Mount Pleasant Complex will be running a patrol competition mainly through the capital Stanley.
