Dr Andrea Clausen has been appointed as the next Chief Executive of the Falkland Islands Government and will step into the position in April 2025. Dr Clausen will be the first Falkland Islander and the first female to take on the Chief Executive role, and evidence of how much the Falklands have invested in their people.

Starting salary up to £142.7k gross per annum, (with more for exceptional candidates). Whether providing strategic advice and policy guidance to Members of the Legislative Assembly, offering advice and support to the Governor, or leading and directing the Falkland Islands Government Public Service, this is a multi-faceted role offering stretch and challenge to an accomplished leader used to working effectively at the political interface and with a broad and diverse range of stakeholders.
Andy Keeling, the new Chief Executive for the Falkland Islands Government is due to arrive in the Islands next week to start the transition of power following a month-long handover with current Chief Executive Barry Rowland. Mr. Keeling will undertake two weeks of quarantine before start working with Mr. Rowland, the Falkland Islands Government announced on Monday.
Following the recent selection process to appoint a new Chief Executive for the Falkland Islands, successful candidate Andy Keeling and his wife Anya will travel to the Islands on 9 November for a three-week familiarisation visit. Andy was given a conditional offer in September 2020, with the expectation that he will take up the post in April 2021.

The Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly has confirmed that Barry Rowland has agreed a year-long contract extension as Chief Executive, taking his term of employment to October 2020.
