  FPSO Sepetiba begins production at Petrobras’ third largest oil field off Brazil

  

  Oil and gas giant Petrobras has started production from a floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel at its giant Mero oil field in the pre-salt area of the Santos Basin offshore Brazil. The third production unit at the field, out of a total of five, since two are yet to be installed.

  Demand for FPSO vessels tumbles but could pick up in 2021 estimates oil industry

  

  Beset by the second industry downturn in five years, global awards for floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels will likely number just one in 2020 as exploration and production firms cut budgets and activity, Rystad Energy predicted. However in 2021 should be a recovery year mainly in Brazil and Guyana and probably in the Falkland Islands.

  Guyana rapidly becoming an oil major: 16th discovery in four years of exploration

  

  ExxonMobil today announced its 16 discovery in the Stabroek Block, located off the Guyanese coastline. The Texas-based company announced that it encountered 29 meters of high-quality oil-bearing sandstone at the Uaru well.

  ExxonMobil resumes exploratory drilling off Guyana; first FPSO expected at the end of the year

  

  US energy company ExxonMobil has started drilling one of two new exploration wells offshore Guyana. It’s the first of two wells to be drilled this month. The world’s largest publicly traded international oil and gas company said in a statement that the Stena Carron drillship is drilling the Haimara-1 well, located 19 miles east of the Pluma-1 discovery in the southeast Stabroek Block.

  Petrobras begins operations at Tartaruga Verde field

  

  Petrobras has announced the start of production at Tartaruga Verde field, in the deep waters of the Campos basin, by means of FPSO Cidade de Campos dos Goytacazes. The FPSO is located about 127 km off the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro, in water depth of 765 m, with a capacity to process daily up to 150,000 bbl of oil and 3.5 MMcmg and 5 MMcm of gas compression.
