
Argentine President Javier Milei Thursday relaunched his so-called May Pact initiative during the Flag Day celebrations in Rosario. The agreement between the federal government and the provincial Executives was to have been signed on the May 25 National Holiday; hence its name.

Nicolás Posse has ceased to be Cabinet Chief within Argentine President Javier Milei's administration. His position will be taken over by Guillermo Francos, who will not be relinquishing his role as Interior Minister, it was reported in Buenos Aires.

Former Argentine Vice President Daniel Scioli will leave his post as Ambassador to Brazil to join President Javier Milei's team as Secretary of Tourism, Environment, and Sports, it was announced Tuesday in Buenos Aires after a meeting which was also attended by Interior Minister Guillermo Francos, who served on Scioli's cabinet when the latter was Governor of the Province of Buenos Aires.

Kirchnerite old hands are back at the Argentine ministry of foreign affairs and worship. The most outstanding is Jorge Argüello who was appointed ambassador in Washington but at the same time coordinator of other appointments in the different multilateral and regional organizations in the US capital, such as IMF, World Bank, Inter American Development Bank and the OAS.
