    “Harmony of the Seas” crew member lost in the Atlantic; US Coast Guard on the search

    The Harmony of the Seas cruise was traveling from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to its first stop of St. Maarten island on its seven-day Caribbean itinerary

    The U.S. Coast Guard said on Wednesday it was searching for a British crew member who went overboard from a Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd cruise ship in the Atlantic Ocean. Arron Hough, 20, went overboard 430 km off the northwest of Puerto Rico on Tuesday, a spokesman for the Coast Guard 7th District revealed in a telephone interview.

    World's largest cruise vessel, Harmony of the Seas, begins to operate from Florida

    Harmony is built on the same platform as Royal Caribbean's giant Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, the previous size leaders in the cruise world

    The Royal Caribbean's 226,963-ton Harmony of the Seas, on late Saturday departed on its maiden voyage out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, its new long-term home. Escorted out to sea by a flotilla of jetboard and jetpack performers, the 16-deck-high vessel set sail on a short, three-day trip that kicks off a week of welcoming events. The events include an official christening ceremony scheduled for Thursday.

    “Harmony of the Seas” tragic accident during a security drill in Marseille

    The accident happened when one of the ship's life boats with five people on board became detached during a “simple security drill” while a stopover in Marseille.

    One person has been killed and four others left seriously injured in Marseille after an accident on board the Harmony of the Seas, the world's largest cruise liner. The fatal accident comes just three months after the cruise liner hit the high seas for its much-hyped inaugural voyage. The victim was from the Philippines and was aged 42-years-old. The other victims were three Filipinos and an Indian man.
