Double commemoration in Plymouth's HMS Raleigh at a ceremony recalling the Falkland Islands' Liberation Day. For one, the Islands' flag is flying throughout British Armed Forces Week, recognition of the sailors, Royal Marines and soldiers who sailed from the city 39 years ago to liberate the South Atlantic archipelago.
Hundreds have attended the funeral of a Royal Navy medical officer who saved hundreds of troops during the Falklands War. Surgeon Capt Rick Jolly, who reputedly saved the life of every British serviceman he treated, died aged 71 on 13 January.
