Despite a tiring 32 hours flight and encountering extremely hot and humid conditions the Falklands football team, playing in their 5th International Island Games competition, took home a bronze medal after defeating the small Norwegian Island of Froya by a 6-0 score line.
The Falkland Islands cricket team on a tour in Jamaica presented the local Courtney Walsh Foundation with a cheque of 1.500 dollars during a reception to welcome the players, reports The Gleaner from Kingston.
Plans for a Caribbean Cricket Tour by the Falkland Islands Cricket Team are well underway. The 15 strong team plans to travel to Belize, Barbados and Jamaica in November and December this year.
