    Falklands/Malvinas link of future Argentine foreign minister

    A Falklands/Malvinas link has emerged from the naming of Susana Malcorra as Argentine president-elect Mauricio Macri Foreign minister. According to reports in the Buenos Aires media, UN's Ban Ki-moon Secretary General cabinet chief is not the only outstanding Argentine national working for the UN in particularly sensitive issues such as Disarmament Affairs.

    Falklands 'raided' by British Special Forces to test the garrison's security, says UK media

    According to the Sunday Express, the surprise attack involved members of the Special Boat Service who landed from the sea tasked with capturing key strategic targets

    British Special forces have carried a raid on the Falkland Islands to test the garrison's security amid fears that Argentina may try to land commandos on the Islands, according to a piece published in the Sunday Express. Apparently such routine exercises are carried out in UK highly sensitive bases and defense compounds.

    The remarkable recovery of the Falklands Islands from the 1982 invasion and the Islanders’ impressive achievements since have been given valuable publicity at a three-day conference at Kent University in the United Kingdom marking the 30th anniversary. It was attended by a distinguished group of academics, military commanders, journalists, and three former governors, Alan Huckle, David Tatham and Howard Pearce.
