  Falklands have three options for a new deep water port

  

  The location of a new deep water port for the Falkland Islands been narrowed down to three potential sites: Mare Harbour, Navy Point (north of the Camber) and Stanley harbour (FIPASS) it was confirmed at the Executive Council meeting last week following a discussion of the issue.

  HMS Edinburgh visited this month South Georgia as part of her six-month South Atlantic and Falkland Islands duties which included training soldiers in a cold weather environment and give sailors the chance under such challenging conditions.

  HMS Edinburgh arrives in the Falklands after visiting Cape Town

  

  The Portsmouth-based destroyer HMS Edinburgh faced some mountainous seas on the 4,000-mile passage from Cape Town to Mare Harbour in the Falkland Islands, her base for the next five or so months as she patrols Britain’s South Atlantic territories.
