  Argentine judge opens investigation on death of one of Spain's greatest modern poets

  

  An Argentine federal judge has opened an investigation into the death of Spanish poet and playwright Federico Garcia Lorca, who is believed to have been executed in 1936 by forces loyal to General Francisco Franco. Garcia Lorca’s fate remains a mystery after the site near the Spanish city of Granada where he was believed to have been buried was excavated in 2009 without finding human remains.

  The usually verbose Argentine president Cristina Fernandez preferred a lengthy letter in Facebook to comment on special prosecutor Alberto Nisman’s death (suicide), arguing it was yet another tragic chapter of the ongoing confusion, question and lies that have surrounded for 21 years the AMIA case.

  Cristina Fernandez appeals judicial reform ‘unconstitutional’ ruling to the Supreme Court

  

  The Argentine government confirmed on Wednesday it would file a ‘per saltum’ plea to the Supreme Court to try and reverse a ruling from a federal judge that declared several articles of the Judicial reform, ‘unconstitutional’ particularly those referred to the Magistrates Counsel.
