A 130 hectares city park and open space taken over by squatters in Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires, the scene in recent days of violent incidents in which at least four people were killed and scores injured, was calm on Sunday following on the arrival of security forces sent by the federal government.
Buenos Aires City Mayor Mauricio Macri inaugurated the 124th edition of the Agriculture, Livestock and Industry Fair organized by the Argentine Rural Society (SRA) that will open on Saturday in the Palermo grounds. SRA head Hugo Biolcati was also present and took the opening honours along with the city Mayor.
Buenos Aires City mayor Mauricio Macri and a former city Education Minister, Mariano Narodowski were prosecuted Friday on charges of illegal wiretappings. Federal Judge Norberto Oyarbide also seized 250,000 pesos from the mayor for considering the case a conspiracy.
