On the 25 February, the UK Prime Minister announced that the UK will increase defence spending to 2.5% of UK gross national income (GNI) from 2027. This will fund the capabilities, technology and industrial capacity vital to keep the UK and allies safe amid an era of renewed state conflict.
The British Embassy is inviting all interested parties to submit their proposals for the British Embassy Buenos Aires Project Fund 2018. The British Embassy has been allocated program funds for UK financial year 2018/2019. The fund is part of the UK’s total Official Development Assistance (ODA) commitment of 0.7% of GNI.
Tourism’s underrepresentation in international financing for development flows remains a critical hurdle to overcome in order to fully deploy its development potential. Despite being a high impact economic activity, a major job generator and key export sector accounting for 6% of total world trade, tourism receives only 0.78% of the total Aid for Trade (AfT) disbursements and a mere 0.097% of the total Official Development Assistance (ODA).
