Ecuador received a temporary reprieve over the weekend when the government announced that a sufficient number of investors had agreed to a consent solicitation to defer interest payments.
Ecuadorian state-owned energy firm Petroamazonas EP, which is looking to boost production at nine of its existing oil fields and on Monday signed a series of investment deals amounting to US$ 1 billion for those areas, enlisting the help of both domestic and foreign companies.
Argentina's state-run energy company YPF closed on Wednesday an agreement with Ecuador's state-owned company Petroamazonas for the enhanced recovery of the mature field of El Campo Yuralpa which will demand an investment in the range of 170 million dollars.
