  Protesters in Chile clashed with police, looted stores and endured a strong earthquake at the close of a huge rally kicking off the third week of anti-government demonstrations that have sparked deadly unrest. In effect as protestors promised it was a “super Monday”, rather a heck of a Monday.

  Pinochet's top lady spy and alleged torturer arrested in Australia

  

  Australian police have arrested a Chilean woman living in Sydney over her alleged involvement in a kidnapping during the military rule of Gen Augusto Pinochet in the South American country. Adriana Rivas worked as a secretary for the infamous chief of Chile's secret police force, Manuel Contreras.

  Chilean Supreme Court seizes US$ 1.6m assets from Pinochet family

  

  Chile's Supreme Court ordered the seizure of more than US$1.6 million from the assets of the late dictator Gen. Augusto Pinochet. The top court also sentenced three former military officers to four years in prison for embezzlement of public funds in a case involving Pinochet, but allowed them to remain free under conditional liberty.
