    Hillary Clinton appointed chancellor of Queen's University Belfast

    The 2016 US presidential candidate becomes the first female chancellor of the 175-year-old university.

    Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was appointed chancellor of Queen's University Belfast on Thursday, taking up the mainly ceremonial role in Northern Ireland where the peace process was one of the greatest successes of her husband's presidency.

    Falklands' pastures development scientist in the New Year's Honors List

    Professor Jim McAdam, an expert on upland grasslands and agro-forestry systems was in the Falklands in the seventies and later in 1983.

    Two scientists from Britain's Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) have been awarded OBEs in the New Year’s Honors list. Professor Jim McAdam from Queen's University Belfast, for services to research and agriculture in the Falkland Islands, and Dr Danny Todd was honored for his contribution to biological sciences and veterinary work, reports Farming Life.
