  Falklands 14-day quarantine will remain confirms Chief Medical Officer

  

  The Falkland Islands Chief Medical Officer Beccy Edwards said this week that “we are still in the foothills of the global curve” of Covid-19, as Falkland Islands Government, FIG, confirmed that they will not yet be reducing the 14-day quarantine requirements.

  Two UK caught Covid-19 cases reported in Falklands through antibody testing; only positive results in months

  

  Following fifty samples undertaken by the Falkland Islands hospital, KEMH, during the third round of SARS-COV-2 antibody testing, two positive results turned out, and were from people who would have caught the virus while in the United Kingdom, reported the Islands' Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rebecca Edwards.

  Falkland Islands: one positive antibody test in March, but no coronavirus results for over sixty days

  

  The Falkland Islands government has confirmed that one individual has tested positive for Coronavirus antibodies. Chief Medical Officer, Dr Rebecca Edwards, said that it is likely that the individual was exposed in late February or early March, and exposure is thought to have taken place on a fishing vessel.

  A two-week quarantine period for anyone arriving in the Falklands has become a legal requirement, following on the introduction of regulations on the issue, this week by the Islands' Executive Council.

  Falklands after UK quarantine waiver because there are no Covid-19 cases in the Islands

  

  The Falkland Islands Government has confirmed that it has asked UK authorities to waive quarantine requirements for Falkland Islands residents travelling to UK. The move comes as surveillance swabbing continues to return negative results. To date, 413 PCR tests have been carried out in the Falklands, all resulting in negative results.

  Falklands' eases restrictions for schools, nurseries, businesses and FIG, beginning May 11th

  

  The Falkland Islands Government on Friday announced it will be easing some restrictions in its response to the COVID-19 global pandemic. The steps, approved by Executive Council, will over coming days include reopening schools and nurseries, permitting greater social mixing, and allowing non-essential work and activities with some exceptions.

  Falklands receives 28 coronavirus test results from UK and all are negative

  

  The Falkland Islands hospital, KEMH, announced on Monday it has received 28 coronavirus test results back from the UK which are all negative for COVID-19, which according to the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Rebecca Edwards means that at this stage the Falkland Islands does not yet have a confirmed case of COVID-19.
