Talks over Ukraine crisis to start Jan. 10 in Europe

High-ranking officials from the United States and Russia are to meet in Geneva on Jan. 10 for talks regarding tensions over Ukraine, it was announced. Russia and NATO were also likely to convene on Jan. 12 in Brussels with a broader meeting set for Jan. 13 involving the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, which includes the US and its NATO allies, as well as Russia, Ukraine, and other ex-Soviet states.

Russian company finds oil off the coast of Tabasco in Mexico

Russia's Lukoil oil company Wednesday announced the finding of an oil reserve off the coast of Tabasco in Mexico believed to be worth 250 million barrels of crude. ”The reservoir was discovered when drilling the Yoti West-1EXP well from the semi-submersible platform Valaris 8505,” according to a company statement.

Russia reopens market to Brazil for 200,000 tons of beef and 100,00 of pork, zero-tariff

Russia announced to Brazil that it was reopening its market for a quota of up to 300,000 tons of meat, at zero tariffs, including 200,000 tons of beef and 100,000 tons of pork. Likewise, Russia lifted restrictions on beef exports from a Minerva processing plant and certified a second plant to begin shipments.
