  Porto Alegre's Airport to resume handling commercial flights next week

  

  Brazilian authorities announced Friday that Porto Alegre's Salgado Filho International Airport (POA/SBPA) in the State of Rio Grande do Sul will be reopening Monday after months of being inoperational given the unprecedented floods. The measure will be carried out as scheduled: airlines have been selling tickets for these flights since August.

  Cargo terminal at Porto Alegre's airport operational again

  

  While passenger flights are still observing an emergency scheme, the cargo terminal at Porto Alegre's Salgado Filho International Airport (POA/SBPA) has been operational once again since Tuesday after the entire air station was shut down due to the floods hitting the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Agencia Brasil reported. According to Fraport Brasil, the company handling these operations, airport structures such as the runway and baggage conveyors, were not affected. On the other hand, passenger flights were suspended indefinitely on May 3.

  Brazilian airlines announce services to Air Force Base in Porto Alegre

  

  After it was confirmed that there is no date for the reopening of the Salgado Filho International Airport in Porto Alegre, still partially under water due to the unprecedented heavy rains that have hit the State of Rio Grande do Sul since April 29, local airlines have announced the start of services to the nearby Canoas Air Force Base, Agencia Brasil reported.
