  IMF concerned over future of Argentine deal due to political turmoil

  

  Argentina's representative to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Sergio Chodos Wednesday said in a radio interview the multinational body was concerned after Deputy Máximo Kirchner's resignation as majority leader, which might jeopardize the Congressional approval of the preliminary understanding reached last week.

  The Argentine representative before the International Monetary Fund, IMF, Sergio Chodos, admitted that it could be necessary for further financing from the IMF, with which Argentina is in the process of renegotiating conditions for the return of the US$ 44 billion loaned to the previous government of ex-president Mauricio Macri.

  Kirchnerite old hands are back at the Argentine ministry of foreign affairs and worship. The most outstanding is Jorge Argüello who was appointed ambassador in Washington but at the same time coordinator of other appointments in the different multilateral and regional organizations in the US capital, such as IMF, World Bank, Inter American Development Bank and the OAS.
