The Greek company Tsakos announced it was closing its naval operations in Uruguay but will keep other investments in the South American country, it was reported in Montevideo after early versions that the firm was departing altogether.
A floating dock of the Tsakos shipping company in the port of Montevideo, where five ships were under repair, collapsed and two cranes fell into the water Thursday, leading to the partial sinking of three vessels, it was reported.
At least four Spanish fishing vessels, which normally operate in the South Atlantic, most of them with Falklands' licenses, left for Vigo and Marin in Galicia, avoiding transshipment operations in the port of Montevideo, Uruguay, according to the country's leading Maritime and ports information report.
