    The latest jobs figures – published in the summer - also show 209,000 UK jobs are supported through the MOD’s expenditure with the UK defense industry

    The 2022/23 statistics released last week detail the money spent by the Ministry of Defense, MOD with UK defense companies. The breadth of spending highlights the government’s commitment to continually improving the defense sector, while supporting the economy and creating hundreds of thousands of jobs across the country.

    UK consolidates its position as world’s second defense exporter after the US

    Typhoon and Hawk, some of the hot items of the UK’s defense market

    New figures published on Friday by the UK Trade and Investment Defense and Security Organization (UKTI DSO) show that UK defense exports totaled £8.8 billion over the past year, a rise of 62% from 2011 in a global market that grew by 45%. The results mean the UK maintains its position as the second most successful defense exporter after the United States.
