  Democratic former police captain to become Mayor of New York City

  

  Former police captain Brooklyn borough president Eric Adams of the Democratic Party was elected Tuesday to become the next Mayor of New York City, after easily defeating Republican Curtis Sliwa. Adams will be the second African American to run the Big Apple after David Dinkins did from 1990 to 1993.

  A disgruntled city employee opened fire at the municipal center in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on Friday afternoon, killing 12 people and wounding at least several others before he was fatally shot by police, authorities said.

  US approves first drone home delivery, which will operate as an airline

  

  Drone home delivery company Wing has been approved as an airline by the US Federal Aviation Authority. It means the company will start delivering goods in rural Virginia within months. Wing, owned by Google's parent company Alphabet, says the drones will carry food and medicine from local shops.
