The Falklands Memorial Chapel, a small modern church which uses traditional religious features as well as computer technology to remember the British Servicemen who died in the Falklands War, now has an official web site.

Those visiting www.Falklands-Chapel.org.uk can enjoy a virtual tour of the modern building, which was opened by the Queen last year, gathering information about the war and the men who died in it.

While the web site may be blazing a trail for "virtual" churches, it is unlikely that computer visits will replace the poignancy of actual remembrance in the building which has been variously described as resembling the shape of a ship and a pair of cradling hands. Both veterans and families of the dead will meet at the Church at Pangbourne, near Reading, for their annual service next year on Sunday 24 June.

Although many people are expected to "visit" the church by computer, the real building is open to the public most days. Further information about the Falklands Memorial Chapel can be obtained from Angela Perry of the Chapel Trust at 2 Soden Rd, Heyford Park, Upper Heyford, Bicester, Oxfordshire, OX25 5LR.
