He is Professor of War Studies at London University and is given the award for services to strategic studies. He is the author of several previous books on the Falklands conflict.

Claudette Anderson, who works in the Government Secretariat in Stanley, has been involved in organising a number of visits by Royalty and other prominent personalities.

A CBE is awarded to Bishop David Leake, formerly Anglican Bishop of Argentina for services to the local and British communities in Argentina. MBE's are awarded to Jill Pratt for services to the community in Argentina, Gilbert James Yon for services to the community in Saint Helena, Anne Therese Kershaw for services to air transport in Antarctica, and Leonard Yeatman, for services to the HMS Ardent Association. The frigate HMS Ardent was bombed and sunk in the Falklands War, captained by Commander Alan West, now Admiral Sir Alan West, First Sea Lord and head of the Royal Navy.
