Dmitry Medvedev wants to consolidate bilateral relations Dmitry Medvedev wants to consolidate bilateral relations

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will travel to Argentina on April 14 and 15, the first official visit by a Russian head of state in 125 years of bilateral relations, the Argentine Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.

During his stay, Medvedev will meet with President Cristina Kirchner, who visited Russia in 2008.

“There is much interest in going further to strengthen coordination in political and economic issues at the international level,” Foreign Minister Jorge Taiana said after talks in Buenos Aires with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Riabkov.

Taiana noted that Argentina backs Russia’s bid in joining the World Trade Organization.

“We also want to work in investment and trade, building partnerships in various areas,” he added, noting the two sides may sign agreements on nuclear energy, space, industry, science and technology.

No doubt she'll sign away what natural resources Argentina has in return for out of date weapons and support for the recovery of Falklands Islands.

Somehow, i don't think that will happen.

The UN has stated that the Falklands belong to the Islanders. The only chance of Argentina ever getting there hands on it, is if some how they manage to convince the population that Argentina is the right choice.

But giving the current dilema, coupled with the history, that will never happen.

Lets not forget, that International law, the UN, and everyother country with an accurate account of History has said that the Falklands never has belonged to Argentina.

Besides, I like what the former President has to say about it's current regime........... Nail and Head springs to mind.
